DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and patients who have sustained physical injury. It is not uncommon for receivers of deep tissue massage to have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two. Deep tissue work varies greatly.


TRIGGER POINT THERAPY/ MYOFASCIAL

Trigger Points, also known as trigger sites or muscle knots are described as hyperirritable spots in skeletal muscle that are assocoated with palpable nodules in the taut bands of the muscle fibers. 

Myofascial pain is associated with muscle tenderness that arises from trigger points, focal point of tenderness, found at multiple sites in a muscle and the fascia of muscle tissue. 


SHIATSU

(shi meaning finger and atsu meaning pressure) is a Japanese therapy that uses pressure applied with thumbs, fingers and palms to the same energy meridians as acupressure and incorporates stretching. It also uses techniques such as rolling, brushing, vibrating, grasping. It is a traditional Japanese Massage. It is promoted as a natural way to help people relax and cope with issues such as stress, muscle pain, nausea, anxiety, and depression. 


ASHIATSU MASSAGE

Ashiatsu is a type of body work in which the therapist walks on the client's body, using bars and other props for support to vary pressure and weight. This modality has its roots in Asia, but is practiced all over the world. In a traditional Ashiatsu session, the client lies on the table and practitioner walks across clients body, using feet to target specifics pressure points.


REFLEXOLOGY

A natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet and hands, and their referral areas within zone related areas, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes without the use of tools, the feet being the primary area of application, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and helps promote the natural function of the related areas of the body.


HOT STONE MASSAGE

Hot stone massage is a specialty massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones, either as an extension of their own hands, or by placing them on the body while they massage other parts of the body. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply, more quickly.


THAI MASSAGE

Thai Massage blends pressure points and stretching techiniqes and very benefucial to those who find themselves stiff,sore, and tired from over-exertion in work, sports, or other delilitaling diseases. Thai Massage enhances strenght and flexibility, relaxes sore or tense muscles, and can help to recapture lost of range of motion. By encouraging lymphatic function, this traditional massage can also detoxify the body,heighten the immune system, and prevent disease and/or injury by promoting flexibility of the body.

LOMI LOMI MASAGE

SWEDISH MASSAGE

The goal is relaxing the entire body and this is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart.  Additional techniques include circular pressure applied by the hands and palms, firm kneading, percussion-like tapping, bending and stretching.

Swedish massage is exceptional for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
